Riefel Bird Sanctuary | Nature Photography | Ladner BC

Last week my Dad and I took advantage of what could be the last sunny weather we'll see for awhile and went on 2 photo-walks. First was to Iona Island in Richmond. Its actually right beside YVR airport, so you can photographs birds and airplanes all at the same time. It was pretty neat. We saw approximately 20 blue herons come in for lunch on the beach. I have never seen that many at once. A definite highlight of the day!

On Friday we went to the Reifel Bird Santuary in Ladner. Dad said the snow geese were there and boy, were they ever! Thousands of bird were in neighbouring fields eating left over corn and making quite a noise! I had never seen so many birds in one place. We stood photographing them for a bit, watching them take off 5 at a time at the same time 5 more would take their place on the field. I don't think my pictures do it justice.

Anyways, today's a little different of a post, but this photography is just as much my passion as people are, especially the macro. Hope you enjoy it!
