Charlie Puppy | Child Photography | Aldergrove BC | Sarah Funk

This week my friends brought home a new addition to their family, a PUPPY!! Meet 8 week old Charlie! He's a Golden Retriever cross with Irish Setter and oh boy, is he cute! And soft. And cuddley. And adorable.
We went over for a visit on Wednesday and I didn't take my camera (yes, I kicked myself) because really it was heart melting to see my little guy meet this puppy. So I invited the crew over today for a photo shoot. This pup is growing and fast! Just like any baby. I am pretty sure he has grown since Wednesday! So I thought it would be great to document this time before he is a giant dog. Which I think he's going to be, those are some big puppy feet!
This is my first time photographing a puppy and I think it went pretty well! He was sleepy, like any baby, so that made it easier. Charlie wasn't much for my slippery background paper, but he did really well!
Now on with the ridiculously cuteness!

Little J & his Momma | Child Photography | Langley BC | Sarah Funk

On Monday I got to meet the son of an old friend of my sister's! Little J is 2 and he is all boy! So curious, always on the go and very playful. Oh but I left out sooooooooo freakin' CUTE!! Check out his eyes! Little boys always seem to have the lashes us ladies would die for. I love photographing beautiful eyes!

We met up in Fort Langley and the weather was perfect! It was one of the warmest days of the month and we just took a wander around one of my favourite towns. J explored, he ran, jumped and even gave me a smooch when we were done. LOVE!!

It was so great to see you again Melissa and I hope you guys enjoy your images. I enjoyed taking them!!

Wedding Paper Divas

I sometimes come across ads in magazines, or where ever and I if I don't have time to go and look at the particular web site, I put it into the notepad of my iPhone in hopes that I will return to it another time. Tonight I explored a site I had "bookmarked", the Wedding Paper Divas.

What a fun site! I had to share it with you!
I love paper and I love flowers and if you are planning your wedding and thinking of invitations, I hope you visit this site. They even ship to Canada for a reasonable price, which is always a plus in my book.
Here are a couple examples of the invitations:

I love the shape of this one, and what a great way to show off your engagement photo!

If you aren't in the market for wedding invites, there are baby shower invites, thank you cards and seasonal cards.

These Thank You cards are a great way to send you guests an image of yourselves from the wedding! Guests always want to see how the pictures came out!

I'd just like to note: if you like this card option and need a photographer to follow you around on your Hawaiian honeymoon, I'm up for the job (PG rated pics only! LOL!)

While you are there you have to check out the wedding favours, SO CUTE! I love wedding favours that are different and unique, check out these examples:

Saturday Wanders |Nature Photography| Sarah Funk

Today's wanderings took us to Harrison Hot Springs. It had actually been awhile since we were there, long before we had 3 children, that's for sure.
My family and I have started a new hobby. Its called Geo Caching. The best way and the shortest way to describe it is treasure hunting. People place caches pretty much where ever they want and they input the GPS co-ordinates of said cache onto the Geo Caching web site
and others go find it! My kids LOVE it! And we get to see new places and maybe even visit new places in parks that we have visited a million times before!
So that's what we were up to today. Here are a few images from our wanderings! I love the spring flowers! I really wish they lasted longer than they do, but if they did, maybe we wouldn't love them as much.

I took this one with my iPhone. I thought it turned out pretty cool. If you have an iPhone, get the Hipstamatic app! Its lots of fun!

Image Quest 2010

For the past 3 days I have been at the Image Quest 2010 photography conference in Richmond. Let me tell you, my brain is stuffed full of business goodness! I am excited to implement some new ideas and practices into my business.

I am also totally exhausted too! Wow. I have forgotten what its like to sit in class all day long learning. On Sunday night my friend Jillian and I spent the evening at the River Rock Resort Hotel where the conference was being held. What a lovely room and ooooohhh yeah, the bed was terribly comfy. Sooo comfortable, we had a hard time getting up in the morning.

There were 5 speakers in all at the conference. Local wedding photographers Miranda and Reilly Lievers of Blue Olive Photography gave a great talk on social media. While Dane Sanders and Jasmine Star from California gave inspirational talks about life, business and of course, photography. All 4 of these people are very successful photographers in the wedding industry and people I look up to. I was so glad to have the opportunity to hear them speak, for them to share ideas and tips with me and to inspire me to grow my business!

I also got to meet a lot of new photographers and people I follow on Twitter and Facebook! I had a great time hanging out and lunching with my fellow 'togs! That time was just as valuable to me as the conference itself!

I am bursting with ideas and for now I will leave you with this image, because no post is a good post without an image! Its a picture of my Dad at last week's Irish Rovers Concert. I took him for his birthday and my friend Kevin is the photographer for the meet and greets! Thanks again Kevin for slipping us in!

Nature's Textures | Crescent Beach |

Today my family and I spent the afternoon beach combing at Crescent Beach. It has to be one of our favorite beaches and the weather today was amazingly warm.
I sort of gave myself a little theme for today's pictures and that was textures. I used my macro lens, which I just LOVE! Enjoy!!

These 2 shots are of the same spot, I just changed my aperture and processed them 2 different ways.
I think this was last year's thistle

While I was just shooting this shell, I noticed some small movement. So I waited and I got this greeting!

Little K | Cake Smash | Aldergrove BC

Meet little K! He just recently celebrated his 1st birthday!
He came over today with his Mom and Dad and Aunty and Uncle for his cake smash session. I have been looking forward to photographing this session all week! I just love them! And this is one beautiful boy!

We took a few before we got into the cake.

Hmmmm chocolate cake

And here we go! He was a little unsure about what we wanted him to do.

Dad say's I'm not allowed to play with my food!

Ok now what?

Mommy shows him the way

But he didn't like the way. Poor K.

As much as I hated to see him so upset, this is just a priceless picture.

Awww, little K really didn't enjoy his cake smash experience

The end

While little K didn't really get into his cake, I am so glad he came over today and we tried. Its never fun to see a baby cry but I am really happy with how the pictures turned out!

Thanks guys for coming over today! It was a fun session, regardless of the tears. I hope you enjoy the pictures!
